After creating Whatsapp Web, which is a platform where users can access WhatsApp using their Web Browsers, i think they (WhatsApp Team) are bent on creating more platforms as they are currently in the process of developing apps for both the windows and Mac OS.

Though they are yet to clear the air on regards why WhatsApp would be working on building A Mac or Windows app whereas it already has her online platform.
I think we might just have to keep our hands crossed on regards the development.
